You can accept online payments in BookingBug with PayPal Standard. If you don't yet have a PayPal Standard account, you can sign up for one.
To set up payments using PayPal Standard, follow these steps:
Click the Cog/Settings icon > Advanced Settings > Configure Online Payments.
Click Change and select PayPal Standard.
In the PayPal Standard section now displayed:
Enter the email address associated with your PayPal Standard account in the PayPal email text field.
Configure the other settings as required (Cancel URL is optional).
In your PayPal account, you will need to follow these steps:
Log in to PayPal.
Go to the Summary page under Selling Tools (or, if you don't see Selling Tools click the "user" icon in the top-right, then Profile and Settings).
Click Seller Preferences, then Update next to Instant payment notifications.
Click Choose IPN Settings.
Enter the appropriate Notification URL (see below) in the Notification URL text field.
Click Receive IPN messages (Enabled).
If you are having trouble taking payments with your account:
- Be sure all details are entered correctly.
- Check that 'Enable Test Mode' box is not ticked.
Test mode is the opportunity to test your online payments without involving real money. If this is switched on you will not be able to make any real transactions.

If you choose to set your own Notification URL in PayPal, you will need to check the box Don't set Return URL in BookingBug.
With BookingBug and Paypal set up, your customers will now be able to pay for their bookings using PayPal during the checkout process.
