Track Bookings with Google Analytics

You can use Google Analytics to track widget views and bookings. This will provide insight on how much was paid for bookings, number of transactions, average order value, and more.


To enable Google Analytics tracking with BookingBug, you'll need your Google Analytics Property ID. This is found by logging into your Analytics accounts. The property ID is a string like UA-000000-01. The first set of numbers (000000, in the example) refers to your account number, and the second set (01, in the example) refers to the specific property number associated with the account.


In your Google Analytics set up, you'll also need to enable E-commerce tracking. There is a handy guide on how to do this here. Once you've done this, you'll need to login to your BookingBug account and enter your Property ID from earlier:



Click the Cog/Settings icon.


Click Dept Settings.


Click Widget.


Tick the Use Google Analytics to track widget views and bookings checkbox and enter the Google Analytics ID.


Click Save.


Please note it may take up to 24 hours after the first booking to get your site data, and the data currently doesn't include admin bookings - only bookings made by customers.


If you want to add tracking to multiple Google Analytics accounts enter both IDs separated by a comma.
