Setting up Google AdWords Conversion Tracking

Users can automatically track their conversions for their Google AdWords campaigns. When a user clicks your Google Ad and makes a booking, a conversion will be recorded in your AdWords account. To enable this feature, please follow these steps:

1.  Get your tracking code

You will need to have conversion tracking enabled on your Google AdWords account before you can track them through BookingBug. For information, please check here.

2.   Configure Google AdWords in BookingBug

When you have your conversion tracking code, find the value of each of the following fields. You will need this information to complete the configuration of your store. Do not copy the quotation marks.

Field NameLocation in Conversion Tracking Code
Conversion ID

var google_conversion_id = 1071247313;

Conversion Color var google_conversion_color = "ffffff";
Conversion Label var google_conversion_label = "mOECCMnPpQIQ0d_n_gM";

You will need to go the Widget Settings Page (Account – Settings – Widget Settings). Then enable the AdWords option. You will then need to fill out the following fields:

If you would like the value of the purchase used as the conversion value rather than a fixed value, then leave the conversion value field blank.

3.   3.  Verify Tracking Status

Log into your Google AdWords account. Then select Tools and Analysis -> Conversions. Look under “Tracking Status” in the conversions table to see if your conversion tracking has been verified.

Note: allow 48 hours for verification to complete.
