Setting up Google Analytics

If you use Google Analytics to track visitors to your website you can now also use it to track the number of bookings taken and your website conversion rate.
To set up analytics in your BookingBug account:
  1. Sign in to BookingBug
  2. Click the Gear in the top right-hand corner
  3. Click Settings in the left-hand column
  4. Click Configure Widget
  5. Tick Use Google Analytics to track widget views and bookings and then enter your Google Analytics ID. The ID can be found next to your web site name on the overall of Google Analytics.
  6. Click Save
If you want to add tracking to multiple Google Analytics accounts enter both IDs separated by a comma.

  • Hi Vinh,

Easy, though doesn't work properly if you want to track your ecommerce/conversion.
Because in such case you need to use same tracking ID for both: webpage and bookingbug and then every display of the widget is counted as separate visit with the webpage as referral. Which doesn't make sense at all.
GA allows cross-domain tracking, however bookingbug seems not to be ready for that (or i'm doing something wrong).

On the other hand - using the separate tracking ID just for bookingbug makes it difficult to track ecommerce/conversion.

    Any suggestions here?
