Before you start, you need to make sure your Business Settings have been configured correctly for your business type. Click the Gear icon () and then go to Settings > Business to view your settings.
Tick Time-Based Services, and select the following:
- Multiple Services – By ticking this it will allow you to add multiple options for the amount of players.
Tick Physical Resources, and select one of the following:
- Single Resource - If you only have one room to escape, this is the option for you.
- Multiple Resources - If you have multiple rooms, tick this option so your customers can choose which one to escape when booking.
Setting up your rooms
To do this you’ll want to go to Configure > Your Business > Resources so that you can organise the setting of your rooms.
In these settings you can manage your resources in multiple ways. You can create new rooms and delete existing; in addition to managing the schedules for each room (hour/days).
Simply click ‘Edit‘ and the schedule shown below will appear, this feature is fully customisable so you can change it whenever you need to.
Another useful tool is that you can change the name and description of your games so your customers can choose the best options for them!
Setting up your players
Once you’ve set up the escape rooms, you’ll need to arrange your escapee settings. This can be done in Configure > Your Business > Services.
Make sure your service type is Hour/Minute Service. You can set this up by clicking the Gear icon () and go to Settings > Services. Under Service Type, change your settings to Fixed Time and don’t forget to press save!
Change the wording in your account
Make it easier for you, your staff and customers to navigate BookingBug by changing the terminology to your own customised versions i.e. ‘Resources’ to ‘Games’.
Set up terms and conditions
To ensure customer liability for the protection and care of your resources, you may want to set up terms and conditions.
If you need to find out a little bit more about your customer (e.g. ‘Do you have any medical issues?’), you can ask this question once and the answer will be kept on record.
If you need to ask about their booking (e.g. Will you need to rent anything else from us?). These question will be asked at every booking.
Set up Daily Deals
Enable the option for your customers to use vouchers from external vendors, like Groupon or Wowcher, by setting up daily deals in your account.
Add staff to your account
If you have employees for specific rooms, you can add these to your account so that they add their schedule and see their availability.
